Transportation secretary to speak at Salem State forum

SALEM — State Transportation Secretary Richard Davey will speak tonight at a forum at Salem State University.

Davey will take part in a panel discussion on “The Way Forward: A 21st-Century Transportation Plan.” The secretary will discuss Gov. Deval Patrick’s proposals for funding the state’s transportation needs.

The program starts at 6:30 p.m. in the recital hall on Salem State’s central campus.

Other panelists include state Sen. Thomas McGee of Lynn, chairman of the Senate Transportation Committee, and Andrew Bagley of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation.

The forum, which is free and open to the public, is sponsored by the North Shore Alliance for Economic Development.
