North Shore in Fall: What to do


America’s Music: Latin Rhythm from Mambo to Hip Hop, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., Peabody Institute Library, Sutton Room, 82 Main St., Peabody. Explore the films “Latin Music, USA: Episode One: Bridges” and “From Mambo to Hip Hop: A South Bronx Tale.” Event is part of a six-week program series featuring documentary film screenings and scholar-led discussions of 20th-century American popular music.

Endicott Singers perform with Symphony by the Sea, 7:30 p.m., Abbot Hall, 188 Washington St., Marblehead. Join the Endicott Singers as they perform opera choruses with Symphony by the Sea, Boston North’s all-professional chamber orchestra, as part of the orchestra’s 2013-2014 season. Halloween Happenings, 6 to 7:30 p.m., Ipswich River Wildlife Sanctuary, 87 Perkins Row, Topsfield. Guided walks along Halloween trail leave every 15 minutes. Learn about the creatures of the night and some history and myths that surround the holiday. Allow an hour-and-a-half for total program. Refreshments served. For families with children ages 4 to 12. Choose from one of the following arrival times: 6, 6:15, 6:30, 6:45, 7, 7:15, or 7:30 p.m. Event also on Saturday, Oct. 26. Costumes welcome; dress warmly. Fab Fads Costume Cocktail Party, 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Wenham Museum, 132 Main St., Wenham. Come dressed wearing a favorite fad and enjoy games, cocktails, and dances. Twist, slide or bump to the most popular music of the past 50 years in celebration of the Fab Fads exhibit. Included with museum admission., 978-468-2377.

Adams Foundation Piano Recital Series: Awadagin Pratt, 8 p.m., Phillips Recital Hall, Gordon College, 255 Grapevine Road, Wenham. Celebrated pianist Awadagin Pratt presents the first concert in the 2013–2014 Adams Foundation Piano Recital Series. Pratt’s international career has brought him to major concert stages, including the White House and Sesame Street. $20 general, $10 senior citizens.
