Salem Theatre Company presents Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible,” Thursday through Saturday, 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, 3 p.m., Oct. 3 to 6; Oct. 10 to 13; Oct. 17 to 19. Winner of the Tony Award for best play, this drama about the Puritan purge of witchcraft in old Salem is both a gripping historical play and a timely parable of contemporary society. Tales & Tombstones Trolley Tours, Oct. 4 to 6, 11 to 13, 18 to 20, 25 to 27, first tour departs at 6 p.m. from 8 Central St. Tour and explore Salem of the shadows. Presented by Salem Trolley.
