Salem school forum set for Monday night

SALEM — Mayor Kim Driscoll and School Superintendent Stephen Russell will give an update on the turnaround effort in the public schools at a community forum Monday night.

“Salem Public Schools Turnaround: Two Years Later” will provide information on the many new initiatives and programs underway across the school district.

The forum is being held from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Bentley School. Interpreters and child care will be provided.

As part of the program, Dr. Karla Baehr, the educator who helped launch the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education’s new evaluation system for teachers and administrators, will take part in a panel discussion with Salem High Principal Dave Angeramo and Kathy Marchetti, a fifth-grade teacher at Witchcraft Heights School.

The forum is open to the public.
