Police received a 2:01 p.m. report that a man had spit on another man during a dispute over a parking space on Margin Street. Police spoke to the man in question, and he denied having done so. An officer advised him “that he should think twice before spitting on someone in the future, as it could lead to charges being filed against him,” according to the log.



About 8:10 p.m., an officer near Home Depot at 92 Newbury St. arrested Danielle Steenbruggen, 32, of 111 Lowell Road, North Reading, on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, a marked lanes violation and a motor vehicle lights violation.

A 10:47 p.m. report of a male in the roadway near 1 Collins St. resulted in the arrest of James Veinot, 34, of 252 Newbury St., Peabody, on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
