Police: Man stabbed in head by uninvited guest

BEVERLY — Police say a Highland Terrace man was stabbed in the head on Sunday morning as he tried to move along a group of people who had showed up uninvited for a party at his residence.

The 23-year-old man was transported to Beverly Hospital after police and emergency personnel responded to his apartment at 11 Highland Terrace about 2 a.m., according to the incident log and an interview with an officer.

The man had been stabbed near his right ear — likely with a knife — by an unknown white male who approached him as he was trying to clear a group of 20 to 30 people from in front of his residence. He received six stitches at the hospital and was released.

An officer said the man had advertised a gathering at his apartment on an undisclosed social media website, but that word of the party spread, and numerous people who were uninvited showed up anyway.

The incident is under investigation.
