Hamilton looks to village's future

HAMILTON — The conversation over the future of downtown continues.

The town has received a $25,000 grant from the Barr Foundation for Sustainable Development to study and draft a plan for the future of the Hamilton Wenham Village, which includes the adjacent Wenham Business District.

A public workshop will take place tonight from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton-Wenham Public Library to seek input from residents on opportunities for housing, commercial development, infrastructure needs and zoning relief for downtown.

A second meeting is scheduled for Nov. 14 at the same time and place.

The Hamilton Development Corporation will use the results to finalize a plan for future investments in the village area.

The corporation was formed in 2012 to implement recommendations for downtown.
