Police: Man kills himself in CVS parking lot

MIDDLETON — Police say a Boxford man shot and killed himself in the parking lot of the CVS on Maple Street yesterday evening following an incident that occurred inside the store.

Police Chief James DiGianvittorio said last night that officers were originally dispatched to the store after a report of an incident shortly after 6 p.m. He declined to elaborate on what type of incident it was, other than to say the unnamed Boxford man was involved.

After the incident, but before police arrived, the man left the store and got into his vehicle, where he killed himself with at least one shot from an undisclosed type of gun, said DiGianvittorio.

The incident is under investigation.
