Police responded to 8 Winter St. after a 4:48 p.m. report that a truck had been “parked for 10 hours now” on a sidewalk. Police wrote later: “Officer reports truck moved as he pulled up.”
A Magnolia Way man reported at 7:58 p.m. that somebody had apparently tried to break into his residence, but police determined the Fire Department had actually damaged his door frame earlier in the day while trying to get inside after a Lifeline activation.
Police responded to Northshore Mall after security there reported at 10:31 p.m. that a man was refusing to leave. An officer determined the man was “unaware that he could not walk around the mall when mall is closed.”
A 12:16 p.m. report of shoplifting at Sears at Northshore Mall resulted in the arrests of Vera S. Silva, 27, of 56 Essex St., Apt. 3, Lynn, on a charge of receiving stolen property over $250, and Virginia Ann Wood, 24, of 42 Herrick Road, Peabody, on a charge of larceny over $250. Silva was also wanted on a warrant, according to the log.
Police received a 1:55 p.m. report that somebody’s Air Jordan sneakers had been stolen at Higgins Middle School.
Police dispersed a group of youths who were reported to be “throwing a ball” and “banging on the windows” at 19 West St. at 5:47 p.m.
A 1:42 a.m. report of an accident in a parking lot at 15 Hale St. resulted in the arrest of Henry Jacob Rau, 21, of 22 Franklin Place, Beverly, on charges of drunken driving, reckless operation of a motor vehicle and speeding.
Police responded to 33 Arthur St. after a 2:53 a.m. report of an “unwanted guest” and subsequently arrested George Michael Keith, 52, of 33 Arthur St., Beverly, on a charge of disorderly conduct.
A 12:29 p.m. report that a man was “disorientated” brought police to 434 Rantoul St., where they determined he was “disoriented but in his apartment with roommates to watch over him.”
