Police conducted a traffic stop on Boston Street at 3:49 p.m. and arrested Tiffany Zemp, 27, of 53 Belleview Ave., Salem, on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
A 6:35 p.m. report that a man was smoking marijuana brought police to 95 Derby St., but they were unable to locate him.
A motorist backed into a gas main and then pulled forward into a fence outside a building on Beacon Street, according to a 4:43 p.m. log item. When police investigated, they determined that the driver had left the scene with the car keys. The building was evacuated, and the Fire Department shut the gas off. National Grid responded to the scene.
Police received a 10:21 p.m. report from a Florida caller who said a woman at the Riptide on Pleasant Street was waiting for a ride “to Lynn to get heroin and may OD.” Police spoke to the woman and determined that she was fine.
Police responded to a 1:01 a.m. report of “lots of banging sounds and windows being smashed” at Tedesco Street and Brookhouse Drive, but didn’t report finding anything suspicious.
