HAMILTON — School roofs and improvements to a town park and swimming pool are among the items up for funding at tomorrow’s Special Town Meeting.
The warrant has 12 articles, most of which deal with budget transfers or financial issues. Town Meeting will convene at 9 a.m. at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School, 775 Bay Road.
The morning’s first two articles seek approval for the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District to borrow money for renovation projects: $575,000 for a new roof at Cutler Elementary on Asbury Street and $1.5 million for a list of miscellaneous projects throughout the district.
The Massachusetts School Building Authority is expected to reimburse the district for up to 43 percent of the cost for the Cutler roof.
The second, $1.5 million article includes replacing the roof at Winthrop Elementary on Bay Road; replacing insulation, windows and a fire suppression system at Buker School in Wenham; replacing windows at Cutler Elementary; and making $409,000 worth of miscellaneous building repairs throughout the district.
Town Meeting voters will also be asked to approve up to $47,500 worth of Community Preservation Act funds for renovations to the playground and swimming pool at Patton Park, as well as ceiling repairs and new railings at the Hamilton Meeting House (the former library building).
A volunteer group is doing private fundraising and spearheading the effort to upgrade and redesign the playground at Patton Park. For details, see www.friends
In addition to some housekeeping-type budget transfers, the meeting will also vote on accepting drainage easements on Howard Street and granting and easement across town land at Chebacco Lake.
