Police received a 2:01 a.m. report of a large group of teens at 37 Walnut St., but the group had dispersed by the time they arrived.
A 1:12 p.m. report of shoplifting brought police to J.C. Penney at the Northshore Mall, where they arrested Vincenza Destefano, 41, of 145 Commercial St., Boston.
A man at 2 Margin St. reported at 6:11 p.m. that his wife had threatened him and his family with a knife. Police arrested Lenice M. Manning, 46, of 2 Margin St., Peabody, on charges of two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon.
Police received a 7:52 a.m. report of a motorcycle crash at West Shore Drive and Cornell Road. The caller reported that she thought the motorcyclist might be drunk “because that is what another woman said to her.” Police wrote: “She said he never took his cigar out of his mouth and kept trying to leave.” Police responded to the scene but took no further action, and the motorcyclist refused medical treatment.
A 10:24 a.m. report of a man “who has fallen into the water and is hanging off a boat” in Marblehead Harbor resulted in police and the Fire Department responding to the area, where they later determined the man was actually a diver “hired to clean the bottoms of boats.”
Police received a 3:57 p.m. report of an intoxicated man in a truck on Ocean Avenue who made “racial comments” when a woman and her son walked by. Police were unable to locate the man.
A man reported at 12:03 p.m. that he was sitting in his car on Evans Road when another car “drove down the street and took off his mirror.” The car slowed down but then pulled away. Police contacted the owner of the second vehicle and reported that he would make contact with the owner of the vehicle he struck.
