Wednesday

Residents reported overnight breaks to motor vehicles on Hampden Street, Pine Street, Hardy Road, Elmwood Road, Outlook Road and other streets.

Danvers

Wednesday

Helmar Adler, 52, of 40 Mohawk St., Danvers, was arrested at 6:14 p.m. at his address on charges of domestic assault and battery and intimidation of a witness.

Lorenzo Jackson, 58, of 1 Gates St., Danvers, was arrested at 10:08 p.m. at his address on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Peabody

Wednesday

Robson Santos, 35, of 30 Hancock St., Malden, was arrested at 7:15 p.m. on Route 1 on charges of driving an unregistered motor vehicle and driving without a license.

Moacir Oliveria, 35, of 54 Mason St., Salem, was arrested at 9:12 p.m. in Wilson Square on charges of driving with a suspended license and a marked-lanes violation.

Police received two reports of youths playing basketball on Bailey Terrace around 11:30 p.m. The juveniles agreed to stop playing for the night.

Thursday

Police received a report at 7:54 a.m. of a hypodermic needle left on the sidewalk at Washington and Mason streets. The item was removed by police.

A boy was taken to North Shore Children's Hospital in Salem at 12:48 p.m. after falling and hitting his head in St. John's Church, 17 Chestnut St.

A Downing Road resident reported seeing coyotes in her neighborhood. Police said the city is not responsible for controlling coyotes, and referred her to masswildlife.gov.

Cassandra Brown, 22, of 17 Proctor St., Gloucester, was arrested at 2:54 p.m. at Sears on Route 114 on a charge of shoplifting (third offense). She also was charged for outstanding warrants for shoplifting and forgery by check.

Salem

Wednesday

A police officer on patrol on Outlook Avenue around 2 p.m. came across a German shepherd jumping on two women who were on the ground and yelling. The women said they were selling magazines door to door when the dog started chasing them. Police said the dog appeared friendly. The women were told they cannot solicit without a permit. One woman scraped her knee but refused medical treatment.

A motorist who parked in the Museum Place Mall garage at noon returned at 5 p.m. to find the car window broken and her GPS unit stolen.

Shawn M. Farmer, 31, of 38 Central St., Peabody, was arrested at 7:13 p.m. at Salem and Palmer streets on charges of illegal possession of cocaine and resisting arrest. Police will seek a warrant for the arrest of a second man seen handing a small bag to Farmer on charges of distribution of cocaine and possession with intent to distribute within a school (Saltonstall School) zone.

A Rainbow Terrace resident said she sent a $3,400 money gram to a man in Denver, to buy a car she found on an Internet Web site but never received any e-mails responses following the transaction. Police told her to bring in all her paperwork.

Thursday

A Greenway Road resident told police he heard a loud noise at 2:21 a.m. and went outside to find his 2007 Honda Fit up on cement blocks with all four wheels missing.

Beverly

Michael McNulty, 26, of 26 Prince St., Danvers, was arrested at 10:10 p.m. on Kernwood Avenue on charges of drunken driving, driving without a license and a marked-lanes violation.

Thursday

Police noticed several cars in a parking lot at 1:34 a.m. near a beach and park on Lothrop Street. After initially reporting they couldn't find anyone, police later said they came across a couple "sitting on a bench looking out at the water."

Randall Morgenstern, 57, of 62 Shelton Road, Swampscott, was arrested on Elm Street at 6:10 p.m. on charges of operating under the influence (second offense), possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and distribution of drugs in a school zone (Gerry School).
