SALEM | Police have arrested a man in connection with a robbery at Eastern Bank at 19 Congress St. this morning.
The suspect was captured on Porter Street Court shortly after the 9:23 a.m. robbery. Two men were seen being led out of a building on the narrow road, which is off Lafayette Street about a half mile from the bank. A white Dodge Intrepid was also towed away.
Police believe a taxicab was somehow involved. The suspect is being questioned at the police station.

Salem's volume of road races, and the fact that many of them run through the same sections of the city, had come under scrutiny by the council this winter. -
