Police nab suspect after Salem bank robbery

SALEM | Police have arrested a man in connection with a robbery at Eastern Bank at 19 Congress St. this morning.

The suspect was captured on Porter Street Court shortly after the 9:23 a.m. robbery. Two men were seen being led out of a building on the narrow road, which is off Lafayette Street about a half mile from the bank. A white Dodge Intrepid was also towed away.

Police believe a taxicab was somehow involved. The suspect is being questioned at the police station.
