HAMILTON — Keeping a promise made months ago, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary is opening some of its spring courses free to Hamilton and Wenham residents.
The 14 courtesy audits available cover a range of subjects, including theology, introduction to Buddhism and a class on the life of Jesus.
Other courses will be offered in future semesters.
The audits are one of the outgrowths of meetings between school representatives and town officials to talk about ways the school can be of service to the community in addition to the annual cash donations it has made in lieu of paying property taxes.
Also being discussed is opening up playing fields to the two towns' youth athletic programs.
Hamilton and Wenham residents can register to audit one of these courses by calling the Gordon-Conwell registration office at 978-646-4021 or by e-mailing regstr@gcts.edu. Proof of residency is required at time of registration.
