Chefs face off to raise cash for pantry

BEVERLY — Whipping up a gourmet meal is nothing new for four local chefs.

But doing so with ingredients from the Beverly Bootstraps food pantry was a challenge that drew quite a crowd.

In an "Iron Chef"-like competition at the Bass River Tennis Club, people came to be inspired by the many uses of Ramen noodles and condensed vegetable soup, while raising money for the pantry.

The chefs participating were Stephen O'Connor from Harry's 240, Brenden Crocker from the Wild Horse Cafe, Rich Marino from Chianti and Peter Capalbo from Tryst.
