A woman told police at 4:08 p.m. that someone stole her purse while she was at One Stop Market on Rantoul Street.
Police received a report at 9 p.m. that a man got out of his truck and tied his dogs to a post while he went inside a West Street business, but when he left, he forgot his dogs. The man eventually came back for his dogs.
Saturday
Police received a report at 12:58 a.m. of a fight in Lucky Dog Sports Bar on Cabot Street. When police arrived, the pugilists were gone.
Nancy M. Ouellette, 35, of 84 Aborn St., Peabody, was arrested at 1:50 a.m. and charged with drunken driving (second offense) and an open container violation, following a sobriety checkpoint by the state police and Beverly police on the Beverly/Salem bridge.
A patron at Beverly Public Library told an employee that there was "inappropriate content" on the library computer. The library called police at 11:37 a.m.
Police received a report at 5:30 p.m. that kids on McKay Street were throwing snowballs at cars.
Police responded to a car crash on the campus of Endicott College on Hale Street at 11:20 p.m. The crash was minor, and no one was injured.

Police responded to 11 Story Ave. at midnight for a report of a loud party. The host of the party was issued a noise violation.
Police and firefighters received a report at 7:07 a.m. of a fire on a utility pole near 452 Essex St. National Grid was notified, and there was no power outage from the fire.
Monday
Police received a report at 9:43 a.m. of a plow stolen from Sam Fonzo Drive.
A homeless man told police at 10 a.m. that he was stabbed at 8 p.m. last night. Paramedics examined the man, and he didn't have any stab wounds but did have a scratch on his shoulder.
Firefighters responded to the 246 Cabot St., the home of the new Danversbank, at 10:55 a.m., after a fire alarm activated. Beverly Deputy fire Chief William Petrosino arrived first to find a light smoke condition on the first floor of the building. Crews from Engine 5 and Truck 1 used thermal-imaging cameras to locate the source of the smoke, which they determined to be an overheated motor for an air-handling fan. Firefighters used a large fan to blow the smoke from the structure.
Police denied a taxi applicant his license at 11 a.m. after he lied on his application to police. The man told police he lived in Beverly when he actually lives in Lynn.
A Hillcrest Avenue resident reported to police at 5 p.m. a dispute over where his neighbor was putting the satellite dish for Direct TV.
Police responded to Balch playground at 7:39 p.m. after a large group gathered to watch a fight. A majority of the group dispersed when police arrived.
Patrick R. Morris, 25, of 9 Vine St., Beverly, was arrested at 8:42 p.m. and charged with possession of OxyContin with intent to distribute and two counts of OxyContin possession. Police arrested Morris on Park Street.

Police received a report at 6 a.m. of a car break-in on Deer Haven Road.
Paul Shaughnessy, 48, of 428 Revere St., Winthrop, was arrested at 11:08 a.m. on warrant out of Salem District Court, following a report of a man wrapped in a blanket and walking on Cabot Street by Balch Street.

Police received a report at 6 a.m. of a car break-in on Newton Drive. A GPS was stolen.
Police received a report at 9:37 p.m. of a car fire on Lowell Street. Firefighters responded and found the car was not on fire but the woman was driving with the emergency brake on. Firefighters advised the woman to park the car for a while and let the smoking tires cool down.

Amarildo M. DaSilva, 34, of Maverick St., Apt. 3, East Boston, was arrested at 1:47 a.m. and charged with driving with a suspended license and speeding, following a motor vehicle stop on Lowell Street.
Police received a report at 6:45 a.m. of a car break-in on Beckett Street.

A woman was walking on Salem Street near the area of Chase Street at 6 p.m. when she said she was bit in the back by a pit bull. Connie Sardelis said she was wearing two Columbia jackets, a sweater and a T-shirt and ended up with scratches and some bruising on her back. "I saw the dog walking towards me, (the dog) was pretty much dragging the man behind him," Sardelis said. She did not seek medical attention for her injuries.
Sardelis said the attack was unprovoked. The man walking the dog said he wasn't the owner but told her who owned the dog. Police went to knock on the door where the owner, Leroy Wiggins, lives, but no one was home.
Animal Control Officer Don Famico went to the home a day later and spoke to the owner and saw his dog, Cocoa. Wiggins first denied an issue with his dog, but, after further questioning, Ahab Davis of Lafayette Street admitted to walking the dog. Wiggins said the dog is vaccinated, but he did not have the paperwork. He said he'd provide the paperwork as soon as possible.
Famico placed the animal on quarantine, during which time Cocoa cannot leave the home unless muzzled.
A Wharf Street resident reported to police at 6:17 p.m. that his iPod touch was stolen from his room. The resident believes his friend took it when they were hanging out in his room, but he did not see him take it. Police found the friend walking down the street with two other men on Lafayette Street. Police stopped the trio, and the friend allowed police to check him for the iPod, which he did not have on him. Police, however, did find a bag containing a half-ounce of marijuana. Police brought the friend back to the police station because he is a juvenile and called his mother to pick him up. Police issued the juvenile a citation for marijuana possession.
Police and firefighters responded to a laundromat fire at 82 Derby St. at 6:26 p.m. Firefighters vented the smoke from the laundromat.
A man left Salem Hospital at 7:09 p.m. with an intravenous bag still in connected to the patient's arm.
Police responded to 1000 Loring Ave., following a report at 7:48 p.m. of a possible domestic dispute. Police spoke with the residents of the apartment, who said they were only arguing about the dishes. The man left for the night.
Police received a report at 8:04 p.m. of possible gunshots on Leavitt Street. Police checked, and the area was all clear.

Zachary J. Sabet, 20, of 493 Massachusetts Ave., North Andover, was arrested at 10:50 a.m. by Salem State College police and charged with driving with a revoked license, following a motor vehicle stop on Canal Street by Loring Avenue.
A man was passed out at 12:35 p.m. on Boston Street.
Police responded to Congress Street by Lynch Street at 1:06 p.m. to properly throw away two hypodermic needles found on the ground.
Scott C. Bixby Jr., 21, of 18 Shillaber St., Salem, was arrested at 1:10 p.m. and charged with domestic assault and battery, intimidation of a witness, larceny from a person, attempting to commit a crime, and malicious destruction of property (less than $250), following a report of a domestic dispute with her boyfriend. Sgt. Kate Stephens found Bixby on Monroe Street based on a description given to police by the victim.
A woman reported to police at 1:20 p.m. that her purse was stolen from Salem Public Library. The woman told police that she left her purse unattended to use the pay phone, and when she returned, the purse was gone. Prescription drugs, a food stamp card, a Home Depot credit card and $176 in cash were in the purse.

The building manager of an condominium complex on Howard Street Extension reported to police at 7 a.m. that a car crashed into a vacant apartment. The rear of the building faces the bypass road, and it appears the car crashed into the building as it was driving on that road.
Rogelio M. Ramirez, 32, of 119 Beacon Hill Ave., Lynn, was arrested at 9 a.m. and charged with driving while unlicensed, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving without insurance, following a motor vehicle stop on Highland Avenue.
A woman walking her dog on Bryant Street reported to police that a stray dog, a bulldog-type, ran toward her and her dog and jumped on her, leaving small claw marks on her thigh. The woman was able to get the dog's address from the dog's tags, and she informed the owner who lives on Liberty Hill Avenue. The injured dog owner said she did not need medical attention. The animal control officer will follow up on the case.

Police received a report at 7:25 a.m. of a car break-in on Rockaway Avenue. A window was broken, and a phone was taken.
Police received a report at 10:28 p.m. of a fight near 116 Pleasant Street between five or seven men. Police responded, but there was no fight and the men merrily left the area.
Two men who were drunk were taken into protective custody after they were throwing snowballs at passing motorists on Pleasant Street.

Alexander R. Brown, 35, of 7 Riverbank Road, Salem, was arrested at 12:52 a.m. and charged with drunken driving and driving to endanger, following a report of a motor vehicle stop on Pleasant Street.
