DANVERS — If you have been mulling a run for selectman, School Committee member, moderator or some other office, now's your chance.
Nomination papers are available for the May 4 Annual Town Election in the town clerk's office in Town Hall, 1 Sylvan St.
The deadline to pass in those papers is March 16 at 5 p.m.
Candidates must collect at least 50 signatures, while those seeking a Town Meeting seat must seek 10 signatures within their precinct.
There were no races as of yesterday, Assistant Town Clerk Kathy Woytovich said.
So far, incumbent Town Moderator Pat Fraizer has pulled nomination papers, and so have incumbent Selectman Keith Lucy and incumbent Selectman Dan Bennett, Woytovich said. Lucy is running for his third term, while Bennett is running for his second. Bennett has returned his nomination papers.
Incumbent School Committee Chairman Arthur Skarmeas has pulled nomination papers for a second term.
Library Trustee incumbents T. Frank Tyrrell Jr., Julie Curtis and Kathleen Lopes have also signaled their intention to run by pulling papers.
Karen Hagan has pulled nomination papers for a seat on the Housing Authority.
In addition to these offices, there are five three-year Town Meeting member vacancies in each of the town's eight precincts. There is also a one-year vacancy in Precinct 1, a one-year vacancy in Precinct 4, a two-year vacancy in Precinct 7 and a one-year vacancy in Precinct 7.
For those who haven't done so in the past, the last day to register to vote in the Town Election with the town clerk is April 14 at 8 p.m.
