MARBLEHEAD – No charges will be filed against the driver in an August motor vehicle accident that claimed the life of 15-year-old Allie Castner, Worcester District Joseph Early Jr. said today.
“After a thorough investigation that included dozens of interviews, a forensic analysis of the driver’s Blackberry and a state police collision reconstruction, the conclusion is that the accident was unavoidable,” Early said. “With no evidence to establish the commission of a crime, no charges will be brought.”
Early was asked to assume the investigation by Essex District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett to avoid any potential or perceived conflict of interest.
Castner died after being struck in a crosswalk on Pleasant Street by a car driven by Thomas Larivee, now 19, of 4 Sunset Road, Salem.
