School schedule changes, fees on agenda in Ipswich

IPSWICH — The School Committee will discuss several proposed budget cuts tonight that could affect Ipswich Public School students of all ages.

Tonight's discussion is part of the budget push-and-pull that happens each spring leading up to Town Meeting. The School Committee meeting begins at 7 p.m. in the ensemble room off the lobby of the performing arts center at Ipswich High School, 134 High St.

The committee will discuss possible changes to kindergarten fees, middle school choice, the administration structure at the high and middle schools and changing the bell schedule — the time school starts and ends — at all Ipswich schools.

Details on the Fiscal Year 2013 budget proposals are posted at www.ipswichschools.org (click on the budget/finance/online payments tab)
