Tuesday

A Cottage Street woman reported at 8:34 a.m. that a UPS package had been stolen after it was delivered to her address, but police wrote later: “Complainant called back to say her brother picked up the package, and he has it.”

Police were unable to locate anything amiss after an 11:50 p.m. report of a loud “boom or crash” from nearby the Glover school.

Peabody

Tuesday

A Warren Street woman reported at 4:08 p.m. that six DVDs and one CD were missing from her apartment after a possible break-in.

Police received a 4:16 p.m. report that a baby sitter had locked a father out of his house at 16 Bowditch St. and was “throwing oranges at him.” An officer subsequently determined that “the oranges were not being thrown, and all was in order at this time.”

An 8:33 p.m. report that there were “large flames coming from outside house” brought police and the Fire Department to Pine and Broad streets. Police wrote later: “Officers report all in order. Party was burning construction equipment.”

Police responded to 111 Foster St. after an 11:10 p.m. report that somebody could hear screaming there. “Verbal argument over laundry,” an officer wrote later.

Police conducted a traffic stop on Putnam Street at 11:35 p.m. and subsequently arrested Egidio Perez, 33, of 13 West Green St., Apt. 2, Lynn, on a charge of unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Wednesday

A 12:41 p.m. report of a possible basement fire brought police and the Fire Department to 8 Olsen Road. Police wrote later: “Problem with an appliance in the basement. Some smoke in the house, but no fire at this time. PFD will handle the issue.”

Police were unable to locate a white man in a black hooded sweatshirt who was reported to be drinking in the library on Main Street and refusing to leave at 1:54 p.m.

Swampscott

Wednesday

A Banks Road woman reported at 3:53 a.m. that she’d heard “a large noise,” but police were unable to locate anything amiss in the area.

Beverly

Tuesday

A 38-year-old man was transported to Beverly Hospital with a minor head injury after a 4:48 p.m. report that he’d been struck by a vehicle on Rantoul Street. An officer said the man had stepped into traffic in a dimly lit area near a traffic light, causing the accident. The woman who struck him was not speeding and was not cited in relation to the incident, he said.

Wednesday

A 49-year-old Beverly man was arrested on a warrant out of Salem after a 1:59 a.m. report of an “unwanted person” at 3 Chestnut St.

Police and the Fire Department responded to 181 Elliott St. after a 7:31 a.m. report that a 2-year-old child had been locked inside a vehicle. The Fire Department gained entry to the vehicle and found the child unharmed.

Police were unable to locate an injured coyote that was reported to be in the roadway at Berrywood Lane and Michael Road at 8:31 a.m.

Danvers

Wednesday

Police received a 1:48 a.m. report of a loud car radio at 23 Water St., but an officer was unable to locate it.

A 7:55 a.m. report of a suspicious crane brought police to Beverly Airport, but an officer later called it “unfounded.”

Salem

Tuesday

A 6:53 p.m. report of an “undesirable” brought police to 1 Lafayette St. Subsequently arrested was Robert C. Hourihan, 54, homeless, on a charge of trespassing.

Police were unable to locate the person who was reported to be sleeping in the entryway to 27 Charter St. at 11:34 p.m.

Wednesday

A 12:11 a.m. report of a suspicious red pickup truck with its engine running brought police to 289 Essex St. Subsequently arrested was James M. Sullivan, 59, of the same address, on a charge of drunken driving, second offense.

An officer was unable to locate the suspicious male who was reported to have no shirt on at Derby and Lafayette streets at 11:28 a.m.

Officers on patrol on Palmer Street about 1:30 p.m. saw a woman they knew was the subject of a warrant out of Lynn and subsequently arrested her on it, finding two twists of heroin in her jacket in the process, according to the log. Starica Healey, 26, of 71 Palmer St., Salem, was arrested on a charge of illegal possession of a class A substance.

Police conducted a traffic stop on Harbor Street about 4:45 p.m. and subsequently arrested Danielle L. Doucette, 23, of 77 Harmon St., Lynn, on a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

An officer conducted a traffic stop on Essex Street about 5:30 p.m. and subsequently arrested Robert E. McVann Jr., 63, of 77 Sohier Road, Beverly, on a charge of operating with a suspended license, subsequent offense.

Middleton

Wednesday

About 6 p.m., officers at 1 The Greenway arrested Edward J. Palmeira, 59, of the same address, on a charge of domestic assault and battery.
