A Banks Road woman reported at 3:53 a.m. that she’d heard “a large noise,” but police were unable to locate anything amiss in the area.
A 38-year-old man was transported to Beverly Hospital with a minor head injury after a 4:48 p.m. report that he’d been struck by a vehicle on Rantoul Street. An officer said the man had stepped into traffic in a dimly lit area near a traffic light, causing the accident. The woman who struck him was not speeding and was not cited in relation to the incident, he said.
A 49-year-old Beverly man was arrested on a warrant out of Salem after a 1:59 a.m. report of an “unwanted person” at 3 Chestnut St.
Police and the Fire Department responded to 181 Elliott St. after a 7:31 a.m. report that a 2-year-old child had been locked inside a vehicle. The Fire Department gained entry to the vehicle and found the child unharmed.
Police were unable to locate an injured coyote that was reported to be in the roadway at Berrywood Lane and Michael Road at 8:31 a.m.
Police received a 1:48 a.m. report of a loud car radio at 23 Water St., but an officer was unable to locate it.
A 7:55 a.m. report of a suspicious crane brought police to Beverly Airport, but an officer later called it “unfounded.”
A 6:53 p.m. report of an “undesirable” brought police to 1 Lafayette St. Subsequently arrested was Robert C. Hourihan, 54, homeless, on a charge of trespassing.
Police were unable to locate the person who was reported to be sleeping in the entryway to 27 Charter St. at 11:34 p.m.
A 12:11 a.m. report of a suspicious red pickup truck with its engine running brought police to 289 Essex St. Subsequently arrested was James M. Sullivan, 59, of the same address, on a charge of drunken driving, second offense.
