200 toys donated in Hamilton

HAMILTON — The Police Department collected more than 200 toys for patients of Boston Children’s Hospital at their “fill a cruiser” toy drive on Saturday.

Officers parked their vehicles on the front lawn of the Public Safety Center on Route 1A, and local residents came to donate toys throughout the day. Kirby Brand of Brand Company donated batteries for toys that needed them. Santa Claus even stopped by and handed out candy canes to children who came with their families to donate toys.

“As the toy drive came to a close, it was clear to see that the Christmas spirit is alive and well,” Chief Russell Stevens said.
