Police responded to Endicott Avenue after a 12:50 a.m. report of a man sleeping in his car with the door open. “Party went inside,” an officer wrote.
Police received a 5:06 p.m. report that an animal was howling next to the school at 41 Brimbal Ave., but an area search didn’t yield anything suspicious.
A 5:34 p.m. report that a man was intoxicated at 288 Rantoul St. resulted in the arrest of Wade Durkee, 45, of the same address, on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Police received a 5:49 p.m. report that a ceremonial saber was stolen from a building at 117 Elliott St.
A Pulaski Street caller reported a suspicious man pacing by a mailbox at 4:56 p.m. An officer determined the man was waiting for a ride.
An officer took a report of missing trash barrels in the Main Street area at 9:25 a.m.
An Anderson Street woman reported at 11:10 a.m. that checks had been stolen from her residence and cashed. Police are investigating.
Portions of Lynnfield and Washington streets were closed after a significant water main break late in the afternoon. Lt. Arthur Yeo said it was unclear when the problem would be fixed, but that the DPW was digging in the area at about 8 p.m.
Police responded to a 4:07 p.m. report that a person had found a handgun on Harmony Grove Road and subsequently determined that it was a plastic water gun.
A shoplifter that fled Crosby’s Marketplace while being chased by the store manager was stopped by an off-duty officer near Sidelines Bar and Grill, according to a 4:38 p.m. report. Police arrested Jane O’Connor, 44, of 117 Lafayette St., Salem, on charges of shoplifting and disorderly conduct. She was allegedly in possession of pastrami, pickles and roast beef at the time of her arrest.
Police responded to a 7:54 p.m. report that a man was checking doors at the Bentley School and determined it was a custodian who “checks them when he locks up.”
Police responded to the Salem Tavern at 168 Essex St. after a 12:19 a.m. report that three men had walked out on a $124.01 bill. Police were unable to locate them.
A 1:28 a.m. report of a domestic disturbance at 30 Mason St. resulted in the arrests of Isaac Suggs, 40, of 110 Newhall St., Lynn, on charges of trespassing, malicious destruction of property over $250 and possession of a class B substance with intent to distribute, and Jillian Manalaysay, 29, of 40 Beacon Hill Ave., Lynn, on a charge of illegal possession of a class B substance and an outstanding warrant.
Police responded to a 1:33 a.m. report of suspicious activity at Cabot and Hancock streets and subsequently arrested Craig David Snow, 22, of 471 Essex St., Lynn, on a charge of illegal possession of a class B substance and an outstanding warrant.
A 2:16 a.m. report of an assault at the Hess gas station at 295 Derby St. resulted in the arrest of Kiara Ravelo, 20, of 15 Palmer St., Salem, on a charge of assault and battery and a warrant.
Police responded to the area of Salem Willows Park after a 6:54 p.m. report of gunshots. “Shots coming from over waterway,” wrote an officer, “duckhunters legally hunting from a boat on the ocean.”
A 11:39 a.m. report of a chimney fire brought police and the Fire Department to 95 Columbus Ave. Firefighters reportedly extinguished the “small” blaze before any damage was done.
Police responded to a 12:20 p.m. report that a man was taking pictures of kids at 15 Buena Vista Ave. and determined that the man in question might have been actually photographing a home there as part of an appraiser evaluation.
A 5:53 p.m. report of shoplifting brought officers to 318 Derby St., where they subsequently arrested Colette Olcott, 43, of 44 Pingree St., Salem, on charges of shoplifting and illegal possession of a class C substance.
Police fielded a 2:07 p.m. report from a woman at the station who said she was being harassed by people who once lived in her house in New Hampshire. She said the people “had tapped into the wires in her house and are talking to her through them.” The woman said her lawyer advised she talk to police about the people; an officer was unable to contact him.
Police received a 5:49 p.m. report that a vehicle at 12 Shetland Road had a smashed windshield.
A 9:18 p.m. report of shoplifting at Walmart resulted in the arrest of Kyle Lopez, 23, of 320 Newbury St., Danvers, on a charge of shoplifting.
A woman was transported to Beverly Hospital with injuries one firefighter called “minor” after her vehicle rear-ended another vehicle and rolled over at Route 114 and Rosewood Drive at about 8 p.m. No entrapment or fire was reported. The state police were called to help at the scene, according to radio reports.
