Parking spots can be a sensitive business. A resident called police claiming someone had taken his parking space — he asked if police could have the car towed at 11:24 p.m. on Rowland Street. Police said they could not tow the offending car.

A car caused half-hour delays after the driver became "distracted and drove 20 to 30 feet down the railroad tracks before getting her car stuck on the rails," police reports said. She was cited for failure to use care at 5:46 p.m. near Elliott Street and McPherson Drive.

Israel Chilel, 25, of 231 Essex St., Apt. 3, Lynn, was arrested and charged with a crosswalk violation and being an unlicensed driver at 2:50 p.m. on Lynn Street.

Marissa N. Blais, 20, of 15 Apollo Ave., Billerica, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct at 1:21 p.m. on Newbury Street.
A resident of Walnut Street reported at 1:39 p.m. that several pieces of jewelry have been stolen since November.

Dorvalino Sousa, 33, of 16 Hillcrest Circle, Swampscott, was arrested and charged with driving without an inspection sticker and driving with a suspended license because of a previous drunken-driving arrest at 1:10 p.m. near Lupine Road and Elliott Street.
Hector Casillas, 30, of 16 Myles Road, Peabody, was arrested and charged with larceny over $250 on Independence Way near Home Depot at 4:05 p.m.
Rene Kerr, 40, of 5 Black Rock Road, Melrose, was arrested and charged with shoplifting from Kohl's on Independence Way at 4:56 p.m.

Two women were reportedly fighting near the Liberty Tree Mall at 1:12 p.m.

A $220 iPod was reportedly stolen on Lafayette Street at 4:31 p.m. The owner of the iPod believed a friend may have stolen it after she dropped it under a table, but nearby video camera footage could not confirm this hypothesis.
A Salem Hospital Emergency Room patient, who is allegedly documented in the computer system as a "spitter," was the reason police were summonsed to the area after she assaulted staff members at 5:02 p.m.

Police were called to an apartment near Lafayette and Leavitt streets for a report of a man stabbed. The victim said his attacker "lunged at him holding a large steak knife and that while extending his hand to defend himself, (he was) stabbed." Police said they saw blood and a puncture wound on his hand. In addition, the victim said his attacker threw his phone out the window when he first attempted to call police. A report was made at 3:09 a.m. A warrant was issued for the attacker's arrest.
A gym bag was reportedly stolen from an office building's front steps at 10:19 a.m. on Essex Street.
Calvin B. Freeman, 26, of 7 Orange St., Salem, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and speeding at 2:32 p.m. on Webb Street.
The manager of the Prime gas station near Lafayette and Palmer streets said a woman passed him two counterfeit $20 bills before climbing into her Honda Accord at 2:39 p.m.
Michael S. Oxton, 31, of Lynn was arrested and charged with being a disorderly person and resisting arrest near Boston and Grove streets at 3:55 p.m. Oxton allegedly peddled his bicycle away from officers after they turned on their lights, indicating they wanted him to stop.
After a Domino's Pizza deliveryman made small talk with a woman at her Summit Avenue address, she found a rose at her doorstep with her name attached. The next day, she found a card that referenced part of their conversation. These were unwanted gifts. She called police at 5:21 p.m. and asked them to talk to the delivery driver to tell him she would be filing harassment charges if any other gifts were given.
Police received a report of an empty vehicle that rolled into a parking spot on Klop Alley at 4:04 p.m. Police concluded that a driver was actually parking the vehicle.
