A crash on Chebacco Road severely damaged the front end of a Subaru. The car hit a tree. When police arrived, they could not locate the driver. A short time later the car in question was reported stolen. The driver was eventually located by police and when they questioned him he admitted that the car was not stolen and that he had crashed it. Police said they will be issuing him a summons for leaving the scene of a property-damaging accident. Police said the cause of the accident was a blown-out rear tire.

Bryon L. Macario-Chacaj, 23, of 62 Johnson St. Apt. 8 in Lynn, was charged with failure to stop/yield and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle at 3:21 p.m. on Lynnfield Street.
An officer twisted his ankle when he was attempting to check out a report of squatters behind a house on Birch Street. What was actually in the area was what appeared to be an elaborate fort constructed by youths. According to police, the site's architects built a trench "as a defense to the area." The officer investigating tripped in the trench, spraining his ankle at 3:27 p.m.

A pedestrian was hit crossing a Route 128 highway onramp at 12:14 a.m. Police did not immediately find the red pick-up truck that had reportedly been involved in the incident. At around 2:40 a.m., a resident called saying he was the person who had been hit. According to police, "(He) stated that he could not walk and wanted to go to the hospital." By 3 a.m. he still had not called for an ambulance. The owner of the truck was contacted by police, who admitted to hitting the resident as he was crossing the onramp. "After being hit, (the resident) begged (the driver) not to call the police," official reports said. Police plan on interviewing the pedestrian to further investigate the incident.

A woman reported past assaults by a boyfriend on Margin Street at 5:45 p.m. A summons was issued for his arrest on domestic assault charges.
A woman was struck in the left hip while walking in the crosswalk on Derby Street. Police said the car's impact sent her onto the hood. "She then struck her head on the windshield and rolled onto the ground approximately 12 feet west of the crosswalk," police said. The pedestrian was conscious and alert after the 7:51 p.m. impact but did complain of pain. The vehicle, however, "suffered a dent in the hood and a broken windshield." The driver will be cited for failure to stop for a pedestrian in a crosswalk. The driver said he didn't see the pedestrian and police noted the crosswalk was in a poorly lit area.
Brittney A. Knight, 21, of 16 Oceanside Drive in Beverly, was charged with drunken driving and operating a motor vehicle to endanger at 1:40 a.m. on Oakland Street. The arrest was made after Knight hit a parked car. Knight registered twice the legal limit on a blood alcohol test, according to police.
Ryan D. Chaisson, 31, of 306 Hurley St. in Cambridge, was charged with possession of a Class B substance (cocaine), three outstanding warrants and providing a false name to a police officer at 1:16 p.m. at Salem Hospital. According to police records, hospital staff contacted the department when they discovered Chaisson had passed a bag containing what appeared to be a white powdery substance.

Rugs were reported stolen from a Grandview Road address at 12:32 a.m.
The windows on a truck were broken near Bed Bath and Beyond at 8:55 a.m. on Endicott Street.
