SALEM — A Dorchester man is being held without bail after police say he opened fire on an apartment house near Salem State University Saturday, nearly striking a neighbor nursing her infant daughter.
Evans Timouche, 25, of 37 Fairmount St., Dorchester, was arrested this morning in Boston and is being held without bail on a charge of home invasion.
No injuries were reported in the incident, which occurred Saturday shortly after 4 a.m. on Linden Street.
Timouche and two others had been asked to leave a house party two hours earlier, but returned and then forced their way back inside, police said. After being ushered out a second time, Timouche allegedly began firing at the house.
One bullet landed directly above the bed of a 28-year-old woman who was nursing her 6 1/2-week-old daughter, police said.
