State hearing on budget tonight

SALEM — Have questions — or want answers — about the state’s budget for the coming year?

Massachusetts Secretary of Administration and Finance Jay Gonzalez will host a public hearing on the fiscal year 2014 budget tonight at Salem State University.

Gonzalez will give an overview of the coming year’s budget, answer questions and collect comments from the public.

According to the Office of Administration and Finance, the secretary hosts public budget hearings every year to gather feedback from locals on their priorities for state funding.

A second forum with the same format is scheduled for tomorrow in Boston at the Charles F. Hurley Building. Last year, the forums were held in Needham and Boston.

Tonight’s hearing will be held at 6 in Marsh Hall, 71B Loring Ave. For more information, visit www.mass.gov/anf.
