Two women were transported to Beverly Hospital with unspecified injuries and a portion of Route 35 was temporarily closed after a head-on collision at Locust and North streets at about 4:30 p.m.
Local police and detectives from the district attorney’s office are investigating the discovery of a body, according to Essex County district attorney spokesperson Carrie Kimball Monahan. No further information was available at press time.
A woman near Evans Road and West Shore Drive reported at 9:29 a.m. that her intoxicated husband had just left the house for Gloucester with her dog in a blue GMC pickup truck.
Officers served a search warrant at an apartment on Pleasant Street at 11:05 a.m. and arrested Nathaniel Mattson, 19, of 191 Pleasant St., Marblehead, on charges of distribution of a Class D drug and a drug violation near a school or park.
