A Pierce Avenue woman reported at 12:10 p.m. that stolen checks had been cashed on her account. Police are investigating.

Police received a 1:45 p.m. report from an Ord Street man who said the cord to the security camera outside his home had been cut overnight.

A 1:47 p.m. report of shoplifters fleeing CVS on Essex St. resulted in the arrests of Kaity Kartalias-Brown, 35, and Richard Brown, 38, both of 27 Salem St., Salem, each on a charge of shoplifting.

Danvers

Monday

A pocketbook was stolen from a car parked at 199 Newbury St., according to a 7 p.m. report.

Tuesday

Two people were taken into protective custody after a 2:36 a.m. report of a fight in front of Denny’s involving up to 10 people.

Police received a 10:13 a.m. report of a basketball hoop in the road at 8 Clark St.

Two women were transported to Beverly Hospital with unspecified injuries and a portion of Route 35 was temporarily closed after a head-on collision at Locust and North streets at about 4:30 p.m.

Topsfield

Tuesday

Local police and detectives from the district attorney’s office are investigating the discovery of a body, according to Essex County district attorney spokesperson Carrie Kimball Monahan. No further information was available at press time.

Marblehead

Monday

A woman near Evans Road and West Shore Drive reported at 9:29 a.m. that her intoxicated husband had just left the house for Gloucester with her dog in a blue GMC pickup truck.

Officers served a search warrant at an apartment on Pleasant Street at 11:05 a.m. and arrested Nathaniel Mattson, 19, of 191 Pleasant St., Marblehead, on charges of distribution of a Class D drug and a drug violation near a school or park.

Police received a 2:35 p.m. report that a woman’s car roof was damaged on Lee Street. “She said she has been threatened by a contractor working nearby who told her to move her car each time he is in the area working,” police wrote.
