A man came into the police station at 12:35 p.m. to report a lost bag. He had put a shoulder bag up on the roof of his truck while he was loading flowers into his vehicle from a Canal Street flower shop. He forgot about the bag and drove off to his destination. Once he realized the bag was missing, he retraced his steps but could not find the bag. He was distraught, police said, and said the bag contained cash he was going to use for Christmas shopping. Roughly 20 minutes later, police got a call from a woman who said her daughter found the bag in the street. The man who lost the bag went to the woman’s home with police to retrieve the bag. “He was extremely relieved that he got the bag back with all the contents intact,” police wrote in the log.
