A woman went to the police station at 4:31 p.m. to report that someone in Saudi Arabia withdrew $560.07 from her Metro Credit Union Account. Police took a report.
Michael Joseph Tabbi, 20, of 17 Hazel St., Salem, was arrested at 4:34 p.m. in the parking lot at Wendy’s on Lafayette Street on a charge of driving with a suspended license.
A pedestrian was struck by a car at 6:36 p.m. on North Street near the junction with Lynde Street. The pedestrian, Jeffery Knorr of Salem, struck the windshield before falling to the ground, police said. The driver, Dmitry Menn of Marblehead, was issued a citation for failure to use care.
A 31-year-old man was taken to the hospital after being stabbed in the face with a knife at 12:46 a.m. at his residence on Salem Street. The victim said he did not know the person who stabbed him. No arrests had been made as of last night.
A social worker for the Department of Children and Families told police at 5:07 p.m. that a threat has been made against her by a client. Police said they will seek a warrant for the arrest of the client.
A man driving in the parking lot at Market Basket on Highland Avenue told police at 7:14 p.m. that someone threw a rock at the passenger side of his car and did about $100 in damage.
A power outage in the general area of the downtown was reported at 6:56 a.m. Most of the power was back on within a few hours, police said.
A mother and two children were taken to the hospital to be checked out following a two-car motor vehicle accident at 2:45 p.m. at the junction of Swampscott Road and First Street. One driver, Gary Siperstein, 69, of Marblehead was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way at an intersection.
