---- — SALEM — A Lynn man was arrested on a drunken driving charge after he allegedly struck two houses with his vehicle early yesterday morning.

Matthew Sirois, 22, of 63 Cliff St., Lynn, was arrested on charges of drunken driving, operating a motor vehicle negligently so as to endanger, leaving the scene after property damage and a marked lanes violation.

Police responded to a 5:58 a.m. report that a car had struck a house at 15 Colby St. and determined that it had also damaged a residence at 33 Hillside Ave. Lt. Scott Englehardt said Sirois was found still inside his vehicle, a 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo, which itself was found inside the residence on Colby Street. There were no reported injuries.

It was unclear how badly damaged either house was — police only said the damage was bad enough to warrant a visit from the building inspector, who decided neither building posed a danger.
