After a 1 a.m. report of a car in the middle of Puritan Road, police arrested Robert Conway, 24, of 6 Daventry Court, Lynnfield, on charges of drunken driving and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
Police conducted a traffic stop at Boynton and Burrill streets at 1:01 p.m. and arrested John Towey, 53, of 275 Walnut St., Lynn, on charges of drunken driving, failure to stop or yield and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
A man was served a no-trespass order from Walmart, 450 Highland Ave., after he was caught stealing six dolls, according to a 4:04 p.m. report.
A brick was thrown through a window at 27 Dearborn St., according to a 4:31 p.m. report.
Police responded to a 6:23 p.m. report of a “possible wild animal in house” at 27 Herbert St. and determined that the noise the homeowner had heard was actually two faulty smoke alarms. Officers assisted in changing the batteries.
Officers at 91 Lafayette St. at 6:48 p.m. arrested David Faticanti, 30, of 12 Village Lane, Tyngsborough, on charges of operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license and illegal possession of a Class A substance.
Somebody stole $1,500 in cash from a metal box in the bedroom of a Proctor Street residence, according to a 9:26 p.m. report.
Police received a 9:59 a.m. report that a plumbing tool worth $2,441.80 was stolen from a business at 295 Bridge St.
An employee of Shaw’s at 11 Traders Way told police at 11:01 a.m. that the store had what he called a “gallon-smashing” incident. The man told police that four women entered the store, proceeded to the dairy section, grabbed two gallons of milk and smashed them on the floor. While one of the women used a cellphone to record the incident, another woman pretended to slip and fall in the milk. The man said this is an “upcoming trend” and that there are several “gallon-smashing” videos on YouTube. Police took surveillance footage of the incident and will attempt to identify the women.
