An 11:30 a.m. report of a suspicious person at 49 Hathorne St. resulted in the arrest of William Lewis, 37, homeless, on charges of larceny of property over $250 and trespassing.

A pedestrian was transported to Salem Hospital with head and arm injuries after she was struck by a vehicle on Gedney Street, according to a 12:43 p.m. log item. A witness said the woman was not in the crosswalk, and police did not cite the driver of the vehicle.

An officer shot a sick and injured skunk at 17 Becket St. after a 2:56 p.m. report of the animal.

A boy who was walking home on Fort Avenue was chased over a wall by a coyote, according to radio reports around 8:30 p.m. No further information was immediately available.
