Car crashes into Peabody home

PEABODY — No injuries were reported when a vehicle veered off the road and hit a mobile home on Newbury Street, police said.

"Basically, the vehicle traveling down Newbury Street ... the operator lost control," Peabody Detective Michael Crane said. "Ultimately, (the car) struck a mobile home."

The accident occurred at 1:09 p.m. yesterday and is still under investigation.

Police said the motor vehicle involved sustained "heavy front-end damage." Crane said the collision also resulted in damage to the mobile home, but he was not able to specify how bad the damage was. He said the mobile home's address was 161 Newbury St.

Crane said the department would have more information when the responding officer filed his report.
