Police seek suspect in stabbing in Peabody

PEABODY — Police are investigating a stabbing at Oliveira’s Steak House on Walnut Street, and a subsequent fight leading to two arrests. Gregory Gillette, 28, of Lynn was transported to Salem Hospital by Atlantic Ambulance, as logged at 12:50 a.m. on Saturday morning with stab wounds. The assailant remains at large.

No further information on Gillette’s condition was released by the hospital as of last night.

Police were monitoring the traffic leaving the eatery when, they report, “a fight broke out.” Gillette could not identify his attacker. Police report that the “possible suspect” was in a gold or tan Chevrolet Malibu with three males in the back and two in the front.

The restaurant has attracted the wrong sort of attention in the past, appearing before the Licensing Board over a brawl and broken windows in 2012.

On Sunday morning, as logged at 12:54 a.m., police arrested two people after a report of a fight in progress at the same location. Inacio Cesaragomes, 21, of 39 Union St., Lowell, was arrested by officer Brian Collela on two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, driving without a license and going the wrong way on a one-way street.

Also arrested was Leonardo Ferrao, 21, of 29 Cady St., Lowell, on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
