Police investigated people in a dark-colored car behind the medical building on Roosevelt Avenue as part of a stolen pumpkin caper. These were not, as it turned out at 12:40 a.m., the pumpkin culprits.

A break-in of a vehicle on Lynnfield Street was being investigated, as logged at 8:02 a.m.

Ralph E. Dandy, 47, of 29 Oak St., Peabody, was arrested, as logged at 10:28 a.m., on a charge of domestic assault and battery.

Officers reported at 11:10 a.m. freedom was attained for a live bird stuck in a pellet stove on Route 1.

A person passed out on Jennings Circle was taken to Lahey, according to the log at 12:20 p.m.

Who knew trying to steal a truck could make you a star. Yes, an individual riding a mountain bike and wearing a jacket with large letters from shoulder to shoulder and a stripe on the bottom, jeans, sneakers and carrying a backpack was caught on camera trying to make off with the vehicle. He also left hand and fingerprints behind. Police are investigating as logged at 1:10 p.m.

Steven F. Swain, 51, of 4 Druid Ave., Peabody, was arrested, as logged at 1:56 p.m., at Main and Holten streets on a charge of domestic assault and battery. Police had initially responded to a report of “a male beating up a female on MBTA bus 877.”

Police took a report at 5:09 p.m. of an iPhone 5 lifted from the drawer at a Northshore Mall kiosk.

With friends like this... A Washington Street man told police at 6:23 p.m. that a friend stayed a few nights and now he’s missing socks and pants from his drawers.

A woman reported to police at 11:20 p.m. that someone is stalking her computer, her phone and her bank account. Police sent the report to their Criminal Investigation Division.
