Veterans Day events on North Shore

Peabody: 11 a.m. — Ceremony will take place in front of City Hall, 24 Lowell St., followed by lunch at 11:30 a.m. at the VFW, 20 Stevens St.

Beverly: 11 a.m. — The service will take place at the Veterans Memorial at Odell Park in front of the post office on Rantoul Street. Veterans will gather at 10:45 a.m., and the service will begin promptly at 11. A collation will be served following the program at the Herman A. Spear Post 331 on Judson Street. In case of rain, a short program will take place at the Herman A. Spear Post at 11 a.m.

Danvers: 11 a.m. — Ceremony at the Thorpe School on Avon Road. Guest speaker is retired Army Capt. Charles Gould, commander of Danvers American Legion Post No. 180 and a former Danvers resident. The program concludes with the dedication of the monument at the Danvers Veterans Memorial Fields, which are the soccer and lacrosse fields next to the school. Following the service, attendees may place small American flags in the memorial wreath to honor any veteran. All are welcome.

Middleton: 11 a.m. — Flint Library Veterans Memorial, 1 S. Main St., hosted by the Augustus P. Gardner American Legion Post 227. Master of ceremonies is Ted Butler, past post commander and District 8 commander and veterans’ service officer. A collation at Post 227 will follow the ceremony.

Topsfield: 11 a.m. — Ceremony will take place on the town common. A proclamation declaring Topsfield a Purple Heart Community will be read, and combined choirs will sing.

Boxford: 11 a.m. — The Boxford American Legion Post will hold a ceremony at the Melvin Green in Boxford Village Center.
