An officer assisted an elderly couple find their vehicle at the corner of Mugford and Mechanic streets after a 4:21 p.m. report that they couldn’t find it, according to the log.

Peabody

Wednesday

The DPW was notified after a 3:03 p.m. report that steam was coming out of a sewer cover on Ellsworth Road.

Police received a 4:58 p.m. report of a possible home invasion at 190 Bartholomew St., but an officer determined it was actually a family dispute that had occurred.

Thursday

The DPW was notified after an officer determined at 1:40 a.m. that several large pumpkins had been smashed in the middle of the roadway at Endicott and Andover streets.

Police received a 9:47 a.m. report of a suspicious male on Catherine Drive. “Male party was hanging up fliers for his lost cat,” police wrote later.

An 11:26 a.m. report of a fight in the hallway at Peabody Vocational High School resulted in the arrest of Anthony Rossi, 18, of 92 Walnut St., Peabody, on charges of disturbing school, assault and battery, and assault and battery on a public employee.

A detail officer received a 12:11 p.m. report that a black woman was standing behind the Toys ‘R’ Us building on Essex Center Drive and “swaying excessively.” Police wrote: “Officer was familiar with the person; she belongs to a local group home and is waiting for the bus.”

Tuesday

Police received an 11:21 p.m. report of a possible robbery in process at 131 Brimbal Ave.

Wednesday

An officer was unable to locate anything amiss on East Street after a 1:18 p.m. report of multiple gunshots. While looking in the area, the officer saw a vehicle make two loops on East Street, according to the log. “I subsequently stopped the vehicle at the intersection of Corning and East Lothrop. Spoke with operator who said he wasn’t sure why vehicles were on his street and wanted to check us out. Party said he was on his way to work in Woburn. Everything seems OK.”
