Police: Man arrested after giving officer the 'finger'

DANVERS — Police say a man was arrested after he gave an officer the ‘finger’ on High Street yesterday morning and then took off in his vehicle.

John Mumbauer, 37, of 115 Ash St., Danvers, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct, driving to endanger, failure to stop for police, speeding and resisting arrest.

Mumbauer was walking on High Street shortly after 7 a.m. when he saw Officer Dana Hagan, an officer said. Upset over a previous vehicle-related incident he had with Hagan, Mumbauer gave him the finger, then jumped Sinto his vehicle and sped off.

Hagan pulled Mumbauer over on Sylvan Street shortly thereafter and arrested him.
