Prep administrator to head St. Mary's High School

DANVERS — An administrator at St. John’s Prep has been named principal of St. Mary’s High School in Lynn.

Mark DiFabio, assistant principal for freshmen and sophomores at the Danvers school for the past three years, was selected from 40 candidates to head the Catholic, coeducational grade 6-12 school in Lynn. He previously taught religious studies at The Prep.

DiFabio will begin in July as assistant head of school/principal at St. Mary’s. He replaces longtime Principal Carl DiMaiti, who is moving to a new position as special assistant to the head of school, focusing on enrollment and advancement.

DiFabio, a teacher and administrator in Catholic schools for the past 15 years, lives in Exeter, N.H., with his wife and 11-year-old daughter.
