A bicyclist hit a water gate in the roadway at Atlantic Avenue and Clifton Heights Lane and fell off her bike, according to an 8:28 a.m. report. The woman may have sustained an arm injury but she was not hospitalized.

Police received an 11:20 a.m. report that somebody had stolen approximately $1,000 in lobsters from Swampscott Harbor overnight.



Police responded to the area of 70 Harrison Ave. after a 4:08 p.m. report that somebody was screaming and determined that a child “was playing a video game and he got excited.”

Officers were unable to locate a male who was reported to have taken a picture of a young child in a yard on Elm Place at 7:12 p.m.

At 9:12 p.m., an officer at 126 Lowell St. arrested Michael C. Marciano, 41, of the same address, on a charge of disorderly conduct.

An employee of the Holiday Inn on Newbury Street reported at 10:33 p.m. that there was a domestic disturbance in a room. Subsequently arrested was Joel M. Balink, 24, of 900 Beaver Dam Road, Honey Brook, Pa., on charges of domestic assault and battery and wanton destruction of property over $250. An officer said the employee contacted police after seeing blood on the outside of the door to the hotel room.

Police were unable to locate youths who were reported to possibly be shooting a paintball gun at passing vehicles at Lowell Street and Edgehill Road at 10:54 p.m.

A St. Ann’s Avenue woman reported at 11:42 p.m. that the back of her house had been egged.


A Princeton Street woman went to the station at 12:55 p.m. to report that she “felt uneasy about a male party that had done repair work on her computer.”

Police and the Fire Department responded to the area of 10 Centennial Drive after a 1:57 p.m. report of a “fire in the bushes.” Police wrote: “Fire Department was able to quickly get the fire under control.”



Police received a 4:05 p.m. report that a woman had tried to fill a photocopied prescription at the CVS at 200 Essex St. and arrested Carol S. Dearborn, 65, of 12 Carpenter St., Salem, on charges of two counts of uttering a false prescription. According to the log, Dearborn said she had made copies of her previous prescription because she was “still in pain.”

A 6:21 p.m. report of a man laid out brought officers to 75 Congress St., where the man said he was “just waiting for a friend.” Police wrote: “We advised him not [to] lay on the ground.”

A Mason Street woman reported at 7:44 p.m. that a UPS package containing $40 sandals had been stolen.

A Bertini Lane woman called 911 at 8:09 p.m. “because her cat was not breathing,” according to the log.

Police received an 8:46 p.m. report that a safe had been stolen from a Heritage Drive woman’s apartment. The report came from the woman’s granddaughter, who said a male she knew had gone into her grandmother’s room and apparently dropped the safe out the window, then left.

Officers were dispatched to the Derby Wharf area after a 9:06 p.m. report that a man and a woman were arguing. Aaron Collins, 23, homeless, was arrested on charges of domestic assault and battery, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Also arrested was Jessica Felix, 21, of 22 Grove St., Salem, on a charge of disorderly conduct. Felix was also wanted on two warrants, according to the log.

A Pope Street woman reported at 10:50 p.m. that her ex-husband had been sending her threatening text messages all day, including one that claimed “mob people” were coming after her.


A Willow Avenue man reported at 1:57 a.m. that the friends of a man who had struck him with a bottle during a fight in Medford were threatening him and offering him money and “Molly” — also known as Ecstasy — to drop the charges.

Police responded to 57 Summer St. after a 2:24 a.m. report of a domestic dispute and arrested Ryan McCarthy, 29, of 71 Lakeview Ave., Lynn, on a charge of domestic assault and battery and attempted murder (to wit strangulation).

An officer was unable to locate an injured bird that was reported to be in the area of 7 Pickman Road at 9:04 a.m.
