Playground program expanded to include Beverly High School

BEVERLY — The Recreation Department has expanded its free summer playground program by adding a new park at Beverly High School.

Children ages 6 to 12 are invited to attend the program, which is held Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to noon, from now through Aug. 23. Anyone who wants to participate can register at the park.

The program is held at the back of the high school, near the new tennis and basketball courts, and includes a variety of sports, crafts and games. It is staffed by two park instructors and three counselors-in-training. Free lunches are provided.

On Thursdays, the children ride a bus to Lynch Park to join children from other park and camp programs in Beverly for a day of themed events. The bus fee is $2.

For more information, call the Beverly Recreation Department at 978-921-6067.
