2nd arrest made in robbery of delivery driver

PEABODY — Police have arrested a second suspect in the January beating and robbery of a Petes-A-Place delivery driver on Littles Lane.

Jeremy Mack, 18, of 7 Spring St. Court, Apt. 3, Peabody, was arrested at his residence on Monday afternoon on a warrant for a charge of unarmed robbery.

Mack was one of the three men who ordered food on the evening of Jan. 3 and then attacked the delivery driver once he showed up, Lt. Scott Richards said. The men stole a calzone, some subs and an undisclosed amount of cash after assaulting the driver, who was transported to Salem Hospital with head injuries.

No weapons were shown.

One of the three suspects was arrested soon after the incident when he apparently returned to the scene to retrieve a backpack he’d left behind — and police were already there.

Richards said somebody else could be arrested in relation to the incident but that there are currently no other active warrants.
