Jonathan D. Downey, 21, of 16 Rockingham St. in Lynn, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license at 8:52 a.m. near Atlantic and Ocean avenues.

Beverly

Thursday

Police told a Mechanic Street resident to close the door when they played music at 2:35 a.m. in order to not disturb the neighbors.

Salem

Wednesday

A vehicle was removed from Bill's Towing earlier this month and reported to police as possibly stolen at 6:47 p.m.

A man said that after he came home from work, tired and aggravated, "his girlfriend ... was all over him," and gave him a hard time, according to police logs. There was a verbal argument between the two Lynch Street residents, and both parties told police there was no physical contact between them. The boyfriend agreed to leave the house for the night, police said.

Adam E. Cochrane, 23, of 48 Endicott St. in Salem, was arrested and charged with trespassing at 9:01 p.m. on Lafayette Street.

Thursday

Police were called to help with a "squirrel stuck in the ceiling" of a Saunders Street apartment at 5:30 a.m.

A dispute between friends over a $50 bottle of vodka resulted in one of the parties holding a phone hostage until the vodka was replaced. Police advised the two to resolve the problem in small claims court at 9:05 a.m.

Police responded to a report that a dump truck was not properly securing its trash, which was spilling on the road near Highland Avenue and Marlborough Road at 1:18 p.m.

Danvers

Police dispersed a group of kids on High Street at 7:36 p.m.

Thursday

Timothy Palladino, 31, of 30 Crestwood Road in North Reading, was arrested and charged with shoplifting from Walmart on Brooksby Village Drive at 12:51 p.m.

Peabody

Wednesday

A dog on County Street was hit and killed by a car at 4:07 p.m.

A 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix was reported stolen on Sherman Street at 6:28 p.m.

Two 14-year-old girls were given summonses on charges of assault and battery after reportedly fighting on Pierpont Street at 7:10 p.m.

Thursday

Mark E. Cottrell II, 24, of 1 Azallea Lane in Peabody, was arrested and charged with larceny over $250 and trespassing at 9:10 a.m. on Lake Street.

Medication was reportedly stolen from a mail package on Washington Street. The incident was reported to police at 12:32 p.m.

Middleton

Thursday

John O'Shea, 34, of 735 Lynnfield St. in Lynn, was arrested and charged with possession of a Class E drug and shoplifting at 9:36 a.m. from the Bob's Stores on South Main Street at 9:36 p.m. O'Shea is accused of stealing $69 worth of sneakers.

Alyssa McNine, 18, of 60 Catherine Drive in Peabody, was arrested and charged with shoplifting from Bob's Stores on South Main Street at 11:55 a.m.
