Wendy Boulay, 41, of Londonderry, New Hampshire, was arrested on Andover Street around 12:27 p.m. on charges of running a stop sign, driving with a suspended license, and driving without a seatbelt.
Ronald Claveau, 48, of 160 Boston St., Salem, was arrested around 7:47 p.m. on Mall Access Road on charges of second-offense drunken driving.
Police were called to Boston Street at 9:03 p.m. to respond to a roommate dispute. While the cause of the argument was never clarified, one resident stated that he had been “drinking since 1966,” and he didn’t care about his roommate. Police said the man had bloodshot glassy eyes and was slurring his speech.
Police were called around 9:30 p.m. to respond to a man driving a black van on Derby Street who allegedly showed another motorist a handgun. When officers arrived on the scene, they determined that the man didn’t actually have a gun.
Police placed a barefoot man who was walking in the middle of Federal Street in protective custody around 10:13 p.m. When asked why he was walking in the middle of the street, the individual in question seemed surprised and asked, “I was?” The man said he was going to West Peabody, but police said he was walking toward downtown Salem and smelled strongly of alcohol.
Police were called to CVS on Highland Avenue to respond to a shoplifter at 12:46 p.m. Surveillance footage revealed a white man in his late 40s, with gray hair and a “very stocky build,” taking four bags of Tide Pod laundry detergent packs.
Steven Thackery, 22, of 7 Orange St., was arrested on charges of assaulting an elderly person and illegal possession of a knife.
Raymond Ward, 36, address unlisted, was arrested at 35 Congress St. on Wednesday evening on charges of unarmed robbery and assault and battery.
