A Bridge Street resident reported a possible peeping Tom at 8:11 p.m. She told police she first saw an elderly male neighbor standing in the parking lot looking at her apartment window. Several minutes later he moved to a different spot and was photographing her dog out on the first floor porch. When she looked through the window, he fled the area. She said she knew which building the man lived in, but not his name. She also said she sees him regularly at the pool where he’s made harassing comments to her and her children before.

Police and fire crews were dispatched to Shetland Park at 1:28 a.m. on a report of a large fire coming from a metal Dumpster on the property. The fire was extinguished and no one was found near the scene.

Albert F. Vigeant, 45, of 8 Hardy St., Salem, was arrested at his residence at 6:01 a.m. on charges of possession of a class B drug (Adderall) and possession of a class E drug (Xanax). An officer responded to a noise complaint at the home when he spotted narcotics in “plain view” in Vigeant’s possession. Vigeant was unable to produce a prescription for the pills and was subsequently arrested.

A Chestnut Street resident reported at 7:10 a.m. that someone had pried off and stolen two copper gutters from the side of her garage.

A woman reported she and her boyfriend were heading to Boston to visit her family when he told her he had to run an errand first. They began to argue because she knew he wanted to go buy drugs, she told police. The boyfriend took her car keys and said he’d be back in 20 minutes. She didn’t press charges, but said he’s repeatedly done that to buy drugs and she was trying to help him. The woman was advised to call the station when she returned home and further advised to seek a restraining order and break up with the boyfriend.
