Wednesday

A resident who was cleaning out a Brookhouse Drive house at 11:42 a.m. found ammunition and firecrackers in the building. The .22-caliber bullets were taken to the Fire Department for destruction.

Beverly

Wednesday

An argument that was noisy enough for neighbors to call police possibly originated because of the resident's mother's computer problems at 9:15 p.m. on Whitney Street.

Thursday

A law firm near Cummings Center and McKay Street was reportedly broken into overnight. The incident was reported at 8:31 a.m., and police stayed on the scene to dust for fingerprints.

Salem

Wednesday

Police were called to the area of Washington Street because of reports that kids were "throwing objects at vehicles" at 7:19 p.m.

A caller from Derby Street, who later would not open his door to police, reported at 8:58 p.m. that he heard two gunshots in the area of Lafayette and Front streets. Police found no evidence that shots had been fired.

Thursday

A driver was issued a citation for not yielding to a pedestrian in a crosswalk after police were called because of a pedestrian being struck at 7:20 a.m. near Lafayette and Dow streets.

Nothing appeared to be taken from two buildings near Clifton Avenue and Pioneer Village after two forced entries were reported at 10:45 a.m.

A 2010 Dodge Caravan parked overnight on Essex Street was reportedly badly keyed and reported to police at 12:25 p.m.

Michael E. Jutras, 34, of 15 Prescott St., Salem, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license (subsequent offense) and defective equipment at 3:09 p.m. near Washington and Mill streets. Police said they witnessed Jutras pick up a "known drug dealer" drive 20 feet and then drop him off. According to police, the car had a bad brake light, which allowed police to pull Jutras' vehicle over. After Jutras was pulled over, police found that not only was his license revoked, but he also possessed a bag of "suspected marijuana."

Peabody

Wednesday

A resident who reported his car stolen to police in a parking lot at 3:41 p.m. was eventually able to find his car in the parking lot with police assistance.

Brad M. Nizwantowski, 31, of 1 Richartson Road, Peabody, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended licence and possession of a Class A substance at 7:11 p.m. near Longstreet Road and Page Street.

Several items were reported stolen from a motor vehicle that was broken into on Sylvan Street at 8:14 p.m.

Near the 7-Eleven on Lynn Street at 9:31 p.m., a man was struck in the arm by what was identified as a plastic bottle. The individual who threw the bottle was not located.

Thursday

The fire marshal was called to a verbal dispute on Aborn Street at 1:09 p.m. because a business card was reportedly burned during the course of the dispute.

Danvers

Wednesday

A FedEx package was reported missing from a North Putnam Street residence at 7:36 p.m.

Thursday

A Newbury Street resident was spoken to at 12:17 a.m. for playing his music too loudly.
