Body part not human

SALEM — In what sounded like a scenario from a horror movie, police reported the discovery of what was "believed to be a human knee" in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant on Bridge Street, according to the log at 12:39 p.m.

An investigation never revealed what the remains had come from, but police later took the grisly find to Salem Hospital and satisfied themselves that they are not human.

A Danvers man first discovered the "knee" and called police.

Doctors dismissed the possibility that the bone came from a human being, according to the log, as it was described as too small to be human and included muscle judged to be too large for a human.
