Salem

Friday

Police responded to the intersection of Summer and Chestnut streets at 5:54 p.m., following a report of a motor vehicle striking a bicyclist. The bicyclist was swaying back and forth and told police he had a few beers. When police asked the cyclist, he pointed to the driver and said she ran the red light. Police noted there is no red light at that intersection. The driver said she was heading south on Summer Street when the cyclist ran into the side of her 2008 Toyota Scion. Police brought the cyclist back to the police station in protective custody.

A Juniper Avenue resident reported to police at 6:20 p.m. that someone cut the bushes along the right side of the home.

Jose A. Lopez, 28, of 77 Brookline St., Lynn, was arrested at 7 p.m. and charged with driving while unlicensed, driving an unregistered vehicle, and driving without insurance, following a motor vehicle stop on Boston Street.

Reyna A. Espaillat, 38, of 6 Ropes St., Salem, was arrested at 9:49 p.m. and charged with drunken driving, a marked-lanes violation, and an open-container violation following a motor vehicle stop on Webb Street. Espaillat told police she only had one beer at Winter Island Park. She failed two of the three failed sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit, according to the police report.

Hector J. Arias, 28, of 67 Aborn St., Peabody, and Michael C. Hebb, 38, of 20 Hanson St., Salem, were arrested at 11:08 p.m. and face drug charges, following a reported drug transaction on Varney Street. Detectives Dennis Gaudet and Eric Connolly reported watching as Arias drove up in a red Subaru Legacy in front of Hebb, who got in the passenger's seat and a "hand-to-hand transaction" was seen by police. Hebb got out of the car, which then drove off. Gaudet went after Hebb, who had $40 of cocaine on him. Connolly went after the Subaru. Hebb was charged with cocaine possession. Arias was charged with cocaine distribution.

Saturday

Katie Anne Sauve, 23, of 27 Rainbow Terrace, Salem, was arrested at 12:55 a.m. and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (a car door), assault and battery, and disturbing the peace, following a report of a past assault at the Dunkin' Donuts parking lot at 152 Washington St.

Jorge L. Arias, 56, of 324 Charles St., New Bedford, was arrested at 2:15 a.m. by Salem police who were assisting Swampscott police, following a motor vehicle stop that ended near the intersection of Loring Avenue by Vinnin Street. Arias was charged with drunken driving. Police booked Arias in Salem and he was then taken to Swampscott.

Police received a report at 3:21 a.m. of several windows being broken in the 100 block of Lafayette St.

Police will summons Derron Darcey (age and address not available) to court on charges of negligent driving, driving with a suspended license, driving to endanger, leaving the scene of an accident with property damage and a marked-lanes violation following a hit and run crash on Bridge Street at the Goodhue Street intersection. Police received a report at 10:37 a.m. of a van that struck a telephone pole, which was not heavily damaged. Police caught up with the driver, who said he was going to the hospital on his own. He told police he was distracted by a "few things" and swerved to the right to avoid hitting a car.

Police received a report at 1 p.m. of a hypodermic needle on Winter Island Road.

Police received a report at 6:13 p.m. of a pedestrian struck by a car in the 300 block of Jefferson Avenue. The victim said that, while in the crosswalk, a car heading north struck her. The victim rolled onto the front hood and she fell on the street. Other witnesses confirmed the victim's account and were able to get the license plate number. Police caught up with the driver, Dolores Morgani, 76, of Salem, told police she never saw the victim and another pedestrian in the crosswalk because the sun was in her eyes. The victim was taken to Salem Hospital. The car was not damaged. Morgani was cited for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Ronald H. Talbot, 53, who is listed as homeless, was arrested at 7:09 p.m. and charged with trespassing at Pickering Wharf.

Sunday

Police received a report at 1 a.m. of a house party on Cherry Street. There were about 30 people in the house and the party ended.

Police received a report at 1:30 a.m. of a house party on Briggs Street. There was about 20 people in the residence and that party ended.

Lisardo R. Barrios, 31, of 14 Beaudry Terrace, Lynn, was arrested at 3:32 a.m. and charged with drunken driving (third offense), driving with a revoked license, disorderly conduct, giving a false name to a police officer and a red-light violation, following a motor vehicle stop on Lafayette Street.

Ulises Placencio-Uceta, 44, of 252 Jefferson Ave., Salem, was arrested at 3:40 a.m. and charged with two counts of domestic assault and battery at his residence.

Peabody

Friday

Police received a report at 3:07 p.m. of a car break-in at South Memorial School parking lot.

A shopper reported to police at 11:15 p.m. that her wallet was stolen from her shoes at T.J. Maxx. The was trying on shoes when she put her wallet in her current pair before the wallet was stolen.

Saturday

Police received a report at 12:01 a.m. of possible drag racing on Lynnfield Street.

Peabody and state police responded to the Route 114 west ramp to Route 128 south following a motor vehicle crash. Police reported no injuries, but three girls were taken to the police station to be picked up by their parents.

Police received a report at 2 a.m. of a car stolen from Sears parking lot at the Northshore Mall.

Police received a report at 10:52 a.m. of a car stereo stolen from a car parked at the Legal Sea Foods parking lot at the mall.

The animal control officer was checking Farm Avenue for a report of a sea gull with a broken wing. Police found the sea gull and brought the bird to Borash Veterinary Clinic.

A Lynn man was taken to Salem Hospital at 1:04 p.m., following a two-vehicle crash on Route 114 near Route 128. James Duyon, who was riding a 2007 Harley Davidson, was taken to the hospital by Atlantic Ambulance. The driver of the 2002 Subaru Forester, Israel Kouatchou of Malden, was not injured, but was cited for improper lane change and failure to use car in starting, stopping or turning.

Michael Rompa, 34, of the Massachusetts Correctional Institute in Concord, will be summonsed to court on a charge of violating a restraining order, following a report at 1:17 p.m. that he called a woman on the phone.

Saturday

Police received a report at 11:58 p.m. of two drunk Australians outside Maddie's trying to start fights with anyone that went by. Police checked down and under State Street, but the Aussies were not found.

Swampscott

Friday

Illario H. Peppe, 24, of 9 Priscilla Road, Swampscott, was arrested at 6:17 p.m. and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana and a drug violation in a school zone, after police executed a search warrant at his residence.

Danvers

Friday

Melissa O'Neill, 43, of 2763 Route 74 East, Shoreham, Vt., was arrested at 11:54 p.m. and charged with domestic assault and battery at Courtyard Marriott on Indepedence Way.

Saturday

Jennifer Ahearn, 37, of 117 North Common St., Lynn, was arrested at 2:28 p.m. and charged with shoplifting at the Liberty Tree Mall.

Sunday

David Kolodziej, 18, of 15 Stagecoach Road, Boxford, and Connor Harbert, 17, of 10 Laurel Hollow Road, Boxford, were arrested at 12:13 a.m. and charged with illegal possession of alcohol, following a motor vehicle stop on Route 114. Kolodziej was also charged with drunken driving and a marked-lanes violation.

Joel Grissom, 57, of 6 Venice St. Danvers, was arrested at 1:30 p.m. and charged with drunken driving (fourth offense) and an open-container violation, following a motor vehicle stop on Venice Street.
